This PowerPoint presentation-based report delivers the results of a Web survey of 320 IT managers and others responsible for purchasing printer hardware and supplies for small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) in Italy. Lyra conducted the survey in Italy in 2008 to gain a better understanding of printing behavior among users from SME offices in this region. In this study, Lyra profiles office printer technology and investigates user perception regarding ink jet and laser devices. The survey results reveal the office printing applications that respondents use, supplies usage, channel preferences, future purchase intentions, and how color printing is deployed in the office. Approximately two-thirds of the SMEs surveyed in Italy intend to acquire a new printer or MFP within the next two years. Vendors need to know the feature sets, options, and accessories that users want the new devices to have. This report provides that information, along with other survey results, including technology preferences, A3-printer usage, printer replacement strategy, and the factors that influence purchase decisions, such as price, print quality, supplies cost, ease of use, and color functionality. The purchase channels that respondents plan to use are also explored. Special Offers for This Report Series This study is one in a series of five reports on the European printing market.
