While 7 percent of survey respondents said they were extremely satisfied before acquiring their DVR, that percentage increased to an overwhelming 72 percent after (see figure). The results show this trend occurring across all demographic cross tabulations, including gender, age, income, and education level.
This report presents the results of Lyra's Internet survey of more than 600 owners of DVRs, including standalone devices such as TiVo and integrated satellite- and cable-TV set-top boxes with DVR functionality. Usage patterns, behaviors, and attitudes for DVR viewing of movies, TV series, sporting events, and ads are cross-tabulated with demographic data of these early adopters to create insightful findings that signal bellwether trends for the TV-viewing population.
