Two-thirds of the survey respondents said that they print less than 10 photos per month at home (see figure). Results of studies Lyra has undertaken in Japan and Europe show similar results. This report is designed to shed light on the types of printers that users currently own and to highlight usage patterns and trends in the United States, Japan, and Europe that can be acted upon in the short and the long term. Data presented includes the location and quantity of photos printed in countries surveyed, the types of printers used, and the use of photo paper and ink cartridges. The data in this report is drawn predominantly from a series of primary research surveys conducted by Lyra over the past 18 months in the United States, Japan, and Europe.
