The increase in digital camera ownership in Europe presents new opportunities for printer supplies and media vendors. European Photo-Printing Behavior: A Closer Look provides an in-depth analysis of digital photo consumer behavior, and understanding this behavior is essential to maintaining a competitive business edge in this market.
The report uses data from Lyra's 2001 European Home Computer User Survey and provides valuable information on the brands of printers consumers own, their photo-printer behavior by printer brand, and their photo-media use by printer brand and digital camera ownership. The survey data, which comes from digital camera owners in France, Germany, Italy, and the United Kingdom, reveals that almost half of respondents are printing photos at home, and about 41 percent of this group reports using photo paper. In addition, digital camera owners use almost 200 percent more color cartridges and 125 percent more black cartridges each year than the average home PC user with an ink jet printer (see figure).

This new Lyra Research report helps vendors confidently address key consumer behavior questions such as the following: How often do consumers print pictures? On what media do consumers print? What printers do users own? How loyal are they to their printer brand? With photo printing presenting a strong growth opportunity in a quickly maturing printing market, this report is a must-read for supplies and media vendors.
