Lyra recently conducted a survey to determine the paper purchase volumes, brand preferences, grade preferences, and channel preferences of paper buyers from small-office/home-office (SOHO) businesses (from one to four employees) and small businesses (from five to 99 employees). Paper Buyers in the Office: Brand and Grade Preferences focuses on those respondents who purchase premium office paper.

The higher profit margins on premium paper present paper manufacturers and distributors (such as office superstores) alike with a potentially lucrative opportunity. The paper buyers Lyra surveyed were almost as likely to prefer a store-brand premium paper (49 percent of respondents) as they were to prefer a name-brand paper (51 percent of respondents).

Paper Buyers in the Office: Brand and Grade Preferences highlights the differences between exclusive purchasers of premium paper and nonexclusive purchasers (those who purchase both copy and premium paper). Purchase volume, channel preferences, and brand preferences are all explored.
